My atelier has always been a refuge where I spend much time alone creating. During confinement it became an even more important place to escape to. Confinement gave me more time to be there. To listen to the water in the ancient fountain, the occasional voices of children and the steps of those who passed nearby. My paintings are noticeably darker and bound together reflecting my feelings of isolation and restrictions of our freedoms.
